Description
In order to prevent a break with communism after the catastrophe of China's Great Leap Forward, Mao Zedong proclaimed the Cultural Revolution in 1966. China's youth covered the country with a wave of violence, China was on the brink of civil war. Only Mao's death in 1976 paved the way for the end of the revolution.
