Maniac haikus
by Rubén Bonet
Description
Although this is a collection of aphorisms, plus manifest, plus short stories, the book achieves its homogeneity due to the extreme and sarcastic sense in its style. Probably the manifesto "Adopt a writer" is one of the texts with the highest sense of humor that has been published lately; although the writer himself and other artists would see this text not as something funny, but as a real option for the survival of the arts in general. Jaikús maniacos (collection of playful and anarchist writings) represents Rubén Bonet’s personal return to the scene.

Reviews
Follower of Hakim Bey and his temporary autonomous zones (spaces that evade formal control structures) I can imagine Ruben Bonet drifting crazily (Debord dixit) next to Sid Vicious or traveling to Las Vegas in the Hunter Thompson´s convertible. Grandson of an anarchist, Bonet spent his childhood and youth taking it easy in Barcelona, nurturing himself with the readings of Kafka, Boris Vian, Borges, Sartre and Camus.
"The myth of Rubén Bonet surpasses him: cursed and unbearable writer, underground artist and survivor of all battles. Jaikús maniacos (meeting of playful and anarchist writings) represents his personal comeback to the scene": Rogelio Villareal
Author Biography
Vocational writer due to an error in perspective, disturbed like Don Quixote de la Mancha by excessive reading in his youth. He practices an existential writing product of direct experience and the emotional needs of the moment, basically cyclothymic. For Bonet, the professionalization of literary processes are a chimera, “I write when I can, or when it happens, and not always at the most appropriate (economic) moment, then my finances have suffered and suffer an unbearable swing (at my age ), enjoying a loose and involuntary marginality.”
Bonet mainly writes aphorisms, manifestos and some narrative, originated in experimental nature. The manifestos of Adopt a Writer Foundation correspond to a kind of conceptual literature that could be perfectly inscribed in a contemporary art practice based on a procedural type of writing, as a result of his experience as an individual mired in the deepest perplexity.
