Los triunfos pasajeros
by Melina Dorfman
Description
Ruth seems like any other girl. She works as a journalist, lives alone, has an active social life, and made a decision: to write about a horrible love experience as a redemptive exercise. Elusive ex-lovers, girlfriends not always willing to give practical advice, loneliness and more loneliness foment in her a detached and meticulous selfconsciousness. A hyperventilating voice with mild arrhythmias, expert in misdiagnoses that put her perception of reality into doubt, making her question her desires, fears, and problems.
This is the first novel of an author who joins the ranks of those who emphasize everyday
situations to bring them to a hilarious point with a deceptive autobiographical focus like Lydia Davis and Claire-Louise Bennett. It’s uncertain whether it’s about learning or intuitive verifications, but what is certain is that it forces us as readers into a constant struggle between dazzlement and skepticism.

Reviews
Indie Hoy: “The originality of this novel lies in its formal capture of the protagonist’s convoluted thinking. At the same time, it’s a faithful reflection of the current links that go beyond gender and age.”
Milena Heinrich: "Los triunfos pasajeros proposes a story about the ways of relating.”
Lorena Gall: "The novel proves effective in conveying the workings of a person trapped in a wooded mind who is unable to break the barrier that separates her from her body and from a more satisfying experience of sex and erotic love."
Nathalie Jarast: "Waiting, fear, and frustration become a constant that pervades the story."
