Author Biography
Myroslav Laiuk is a Ukrainian poet, novelist and screenwriter born in 1990 in the Precarpathian Region of Ukraine. He holds a PhD in philosophy and literature from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, where he teaches creative writing. He is the author of several novels and poetry collections. Some of hiw sowkrs include the poetry collections Metrophobia (2015) and The Rose (2019), as well as the novels Babornia: The Old Folks’ Home (2016), The World Is Not Created (2018), and Iron Water (2021).
His novel Babornia entered the short list of the Literary Award BBC Book of the Year 2016. The Kyiv Post listed Laiuk in the Top 30 Under 30 ranking of 2018 as one of the most innovative young Ukrainians. His first book for young readers is Saurus and His Younger Brother, included in this catalogue with Kiwi, Kiwi.
Rostyslav Popsky is a Ukrainian illustrator. Graduated from the Khmelnytskyi Institute of Management and Law, he works as a civil servant. For some time after graduating from the institute, he worked as a drawing teacher. After having received an offer to illustrate one of the most favorite books of his childhood, he concentrated on book illustration, leaving the civil service.
