Author Biography

Well-known Kazakh artist Agimsaly Duzelkhanov is a graduate of the Moscow State V. Surikov Institute, winner of international exhibitions and competitions, winner of state awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1992 he was directly involved in the development of the design of the national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In his illustrations for children’s books, he never painted bloody scenes, wounded and killed, even when he depicted battles. His battles are “shadow boxing”, in the language of boxers, a performance, a conventional duel, and therefore his illustrations for fairy tales are always colorful, good-natured and even funny.
