Its OK to be me
by Annie Hamlaoui
Description
Workbook aimed at raising self-awareness and self-esteem.
This is a practical workbook which takes children through a four-start guided journey:
- 1. Where am I now? A chance to find out more about myself and what makes me the person I am
- 2. Where do I want to be? Deciding how I would like things to be now and in the future
- 3. What are my next steps? What changes do I need to make?
- 4. How will I take those steps? Making a plan of action.
The workbook offers opportunities to create a personal profile by identifying qualities and achievements and also an action plan for change. Can be used on a one-to-one basis and in small and large groups.

Author Biography
Annie is a senior Careers Guidance Adviser, Professional Supervisor and an Emotional Literacy Practitioner. Her qualifications include a Diploma in Careers Guidance, Postgraduate Certificates in Advanced Guidance Practice and the Development of Emotional Literacy within Education and also a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology from the Centre for Applied Positive Psychology. Annie has specialised in the promotion and development of social and emotional learning in education through project working with students and informal training sessions for staff for the last seven years. She has been referred to as one of the UK's leading experts in translating aspects of the 'theory' of emotional literacy/intelligence into very practical application in school programmes and projects and other educational settings. Her thinking, ideas and workshops are developed for and from a practitioner's viewpoint, because that is what she is - a practitioner who works directly with young people. Her development work involves using the 'theory' and evidence from neuroscience, resiliency, positive psychology and multiple intelligences, and translating them into very practical frameworks and processes for learning, which often incorporate music, drama, movement and 'play'. Annie is passionate about supporting others to develop the kind of emotionally enriched learning environments where children and young people feel safe, stimulated and motivated to learn and where they can develop a healthy level of self esteem and confidence. Play processes and games (for all ages!) are high up the list of the critical success factors that contribute to these enriched environments. Annie has worked in partnership with education authorities and has given many workshop presentations on self development and emotional literacy both in the UK and throughout the world.
