Author Biography
For the past 17 years, Dr. Jim Dincalci has been putting together methods to help people forgive. He has spent over 40 years using emotional, spiritual, psychological, and physical methods to help people feel better and heal their lives. These methods helped him in his own forgiveness transformation in 1993.
His masters degree is in Counseling Psychology. He started his training in psychology in graduate school at New York Medical College in 1968. He also holds doctorates in Religious Studies and in Divinity.
Besides his private practice, his counseling experience includes facilitating domestic violence groups for three years and working for the Department of Health and the Department of Education of Hawaii as a clinical therapist in their school systems.
Since the 1960s, he has worked in traditional and alternative health, pastoral counseling, and psychotherapy. From 1984 to 1991 he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in cross-cultural healing and spiritual perspectives in the Holistic Health and Psychology Departments at John F. Kennedy University, Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, and California Institute of Integral Studies (all in the San Francisco Bay Area). He taught regular meditation classes for eight years at Santa Rosa Junior College.
At Sonoma State University, Dr. Jim taught Teaching How to Forgive from 2001 to 2005 in the Conflict Resolution program. His forgiveness courses have been offered at California State University-Hayward, City College of San Francisco, College of Marin, California State University-Fresno, and University Of The Pacific.
