In July 2012 scientists announced that they had found the Higgs particle, with almost 100% certainty. This booklet, published a few months later, is a complete overview of matter, from atoms and molecules, via protons, neutrons and electrons, to the elementary particles that make up all matter and energy that we know.

This book is useful for everyone who is interested in the basics of matter. The first chapter is about atoms, molecules, protons, neutrons and electrons; the Periodic Table, atom mass and atom number; chemical reactions; ions and ionisation; isotopes and radioactivity and more.
