When lured off a planned walk by the magical landscape, Spencer finds his ‘pot of gold’ in a boarded-up house with its strange inhabitant, a young woman called Goldy. A strange angel, who wears black and squats in derelict buildings, she becomes a guiding light in Spencer’s lonely existence.
But back on the estate where he lives, evil lurks in the form of a ruthless gang of bullying teenagers. Can he escape to a better life or does Goldy, and all she promises, sparkle with false lustre?

Author Biography
Art school graduate, Adrien grew up in Surrey and relocated to Glasgow to nurture his dark-humoured, moody and melancholic writing style.
His work has centred on the struggles and the misfortunes of grubby outsider-misfits, often featuring supernatural realms rubbing shoulders with banality and intense, questing desire.
His unique voice combines rich, imaginative ideas, a delight in verbal felicity and flawed characters; coupled with themes of isolation, internalization, acceptance and the search for truth.
