In a remote village on the Epirus region, the people lock themselves after dark. A huge lion have them terrorized. The Governor offers a generous reward to anyone who hunts it down. An Athenian mercenary and a Spartan renegade/soldier will join forces and overcome their differences to kill the beast.

But once the hunting begins new doubts arise. Is the lion a real creature or, as some pretend, a terrible and mysterious curse?
