Author Biography

Lin Handa (1900-1972), a famous educator, philologist and historian in China, once served as deputy minister of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and vice chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic Promotion Association. Mr Lin had a thorough knowledge of west and east and was rich in books. His popular history books such as New Story of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, New Compiled Stories of fore-and-aft Han Dynasty, The Story of the Three Kingdoms, Five Thousand Years of Chinese Nation and so on, which are well received by juvenile readers. Cao Yuzhang (1924-1996), historian and educator, was a native of Ningbo, Zhejiang. He used to be the chief editor of Shanghai Education Publishing House, member of the National Primary and Secondary School Textbook Validation Committee, and vice chairman of the Shanghai Language Society. Moreover, he is good at writing historical stories, such as Five Thousand Years of Chinese Nation, famous prime minister: Zhuge Liang. After Mr Lin passed away, Mr Cao continued to complete Five Thousand Years of Chinese Nation and published it.
