Author Biography
Felipe Milanez is a sociologist, political ecologist and professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and the Federal University of the Recôncavo Baiano (UFRB). He completed his doctorate in sociology in the political ecology program European Network of Political Ecology (Entitle), at the Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra, in Portugal. He was a reporter and editor at Brasil Indígena (Funai) and National Geographic Brasil magazines, as well as freelancing for different publications, such as Carta Capital and Rolling Stone, and as a documentary filmmaker and scriptwriter for Vice.com, Netflix and TV Brasil. He is co-author of the book Guerras da conquista: da invasão dos portugueses até dias de hoje (HarperCollins, 2021) and co-organizer of several titles, including Routledge Handbook of Latin America and the Environment (Routledge, 2023) and Memórias sertanistas: cem anos de indigenismo no Brasil (Edições Sesc, 2015).
