Author Biography
David Kahan has over forty years experience in planning, implementation and evaluation of agricultural development projects. He specialises in rural institutions and supporting services (agricultural extension, marketing, financial services). His key areas of interest: agricultural innovation and extension, farm business management, agribusiness development, marketing extension, natural resource management, farming systems and capacity development. He has been a UN-FAO staff member, and has consultancy experience with WFP, IFAD, EU, DFID, CGIAR, AfDB, ADB and the World Bank.; For 20 years Steven Worth worked in Agricultural Extension and Development as a field practitioner and manager in South Africa and then another 20 years as a professor, researcher, Director of the African Centre for Food Security and Dean and Head of the School of Agriculture, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) from which he recently retired.
