Hollywood actor helps in Afghanistan By Deb Baker / Concord Monitor I've shied away from war stories. But this is about what you might like, so I tried "Fahim Speaks," and I'm glad I did ... His success [as a Marine interpreter] makes him a Taliban target ... Despite the danger, Fahim embraces every challenge... a good war story The story of an Afghan refugee, actor and U.S. patriot. Patriotism led Fahim Fazli to become an interpreter. He requested to be on the front lines, and was stationed at an Afghan forward operating base for the Marines. He was so successful in bridging two cultures that the Taliban put a price on his head. By JIM FENNELL New Hampshire Union Leader "When Fahim Fazli speaks, we are fascinated." - Tom Hanks, CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR "If you want to understand assimilation, culture-clash, patriotism, and perseverance, then you need to read about Fahim Fazli's arduous trek from Afghanistan to Hollywood and back." - Captain Dale Dye (USMC, ret) FAHIM SPEAKS gets my highest recommendation - it's a must read. What a TRULY AMERICAN story of perseverance and service! Reviewed by: Hodge Wood (2012) "Military Writers Society of America"
