This work makes a comparative analysis between the political transition processes of El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru and Argentina, along with the current Colombian context: the post-settlement. The central theme of the book is based on the concept that the conflict in Colombia has not ended, but has mutated into a post-settlement era in which peace must still be built.

Author Biography
Miguel Barreto Henriques studied International Relations at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra, in Portugal, where he is currently a doctoral candidate in International Politics and Conflict Resolution. His research interests include European studies, conflict resolution, the rights of indigenous peoples, and Europe-Latin America relations. For her doctoral thesis, she is researching the role and approach of the European Union in the resolution of the Colombian conflict.
