Everything will be alright
by Mohammad Al Itabi
Description
This story is about the relationship between a boy named Ahmed and his grandfather and his dealing with the grief and emptiness left by his grandfather's death. On his way to bid farewell to his grandfather, the places he sees remind Ahmed of his memories with his grandfather. Ahmed remembers that his grandfather bought him candy from the grocery store without his mother's permission. On the seashore, he told him stories of sailors and Sinbad and taught him how he could hear the sound of the sea in the shells. In front of the school, he consoled him and told him that everything would be fine. Ahmed's father explains that, after death, people's souls fly in the sky, and the earth embraces their bodies. As the days go by, Ahmed's relationship with his grandfather continues through his visit to his grave. He goes to bid him farewell before he leaves the town and sees chrysanthemums and is sure that “everything will be fine.”

Reviews
Here is an album that addresses the delicate issue of mourning. Ahmed lost his grandfather. He then remembers the memories he has of him, and visits him as often as possible where he rests. He also tries to see things positively as his grandfather taught him.
The subject is well approached, with finesse in the text as well as in the illustrations which take over when the words are too hard to describe the loss of a loved one. We particularly appreciate the colors of pastel colors used by the illustrator, as if to bring softness to the subject. Although a little short, this album is a nice story to tell children to approach the issue of mourning with delicacy... Takam Tikou
