The six-chapter book is a serious academic attempt and an outcome of a diverse educational field experience in one of the most important areas in the UAE society; educational field in past eras. The book highlights chronology of education in Khorfakkan, one of the key cities of the Emirate of Sharjah, in terms of documenting the stages that the education process went through from 1959 until 2000, with all its events and developments, accompanied by numbers, statistics, documents and certificates that numbered 250 photos, 30 school certificates, 12 school records, 38 general documents and 38 schedules. This book is serves as a scientific source for every researcher and reader, being a unique systematic and valuable field study added to the record of historical studies in the education process of the United Arab Emirates.

Author Biography
Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Ali Al-Naqbi
The author has been working in the fields of education for 40 years, as he was one of the first teachers in the Eastern Region, where he was enrolled in Al-Muhallab bin Abi Sufra School in 1970, before the establishment of the United Arab Emirates. The author is an educational expert. He obtained BA Degree in 1983, MA in 1989 and PhD in in Education in 2000.
He combined educational, academic and artistic experience and worked as Head of Education Department at the University of Sharjah, College of Arts. Then, he became a Visiting Professor at the University of Sharjah, Khorfakkan branch of the University.
His academic and practical biography is filled with several participations in conferences, seminars, educational and academic meetings, educational workshops, and the numerous lectures he delivered, as he won several awards, including:
Sheikh Rashid Award for Academic Excellence for obtaining PhD;
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Award for Teachers; and
Sheikh Rashid Award for Academic Excellence for obtaining MA Degree.
He was honored as part of the first class of first-grade students in Al-Muhallab bin Abi Sufra School. The honoring ceremony was held at Al-Khalil bin Ahmed School, 1996.
Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority
Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority, earlier Sharjah Centre for Documentation and Research, was established by resolution no. (4) of 2010, issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad AL Qassimi, member of the Supreme Council, the Ruler of Sharjah. In 2016, H.H. Ruler of Sharjah issued resolution no. (4) of 2016, on the establishment of Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority. The objectives were set to collecting and preserving documents related to the emirate, as well as the development of the documentation and archive system. Furthermore, the Authority shall oversee the management of current documents and mediate documents with concerned parties. The Authority represents the local body concerned with all matters of documents and archiving and it abides by the best international standards for preserving and maintaining documents. The Authority works to strengthen cultural and historical awareness and encourage scientific researches and intellectual creativity.
