Author Biography
Miao Desui is a paleontologist and an authoritative translator of On the Origin of Species. He is the first Asian scholar to receive the Romer Prize from the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, and he holds a dual Ph.D. degree in geology and zoology. He is now an emeritus professor at the Biodiversity Institute & Natural History Museum of the University of Kansas and a visiting fellow at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has written many popular science works for children and won dozens of honors, such as the Gold Award for outstanding science works from the China Science Writers Association, the Laureate Children's Book Award, Wenjin Book Award, the China Influential Book Award, and the Nature Good Book Award, and the Best China Books of 2021.
