Nigeria, homeland of the great Chinua Achebe ("Things Fall Apart"), continues to grow a thriving literature culture and to produce talented, even masterly, young writers. Nnamdi Oguike is such an example. This is a work of short stories. To me (a novelist), these are so difficult to write (and sell) that I've tried it only once to no avail. But Oguike does it beautifully. Even though the stories take place in different international settings, all are lyrical and memorable in their own way, so much so that the scenes you have visualized will recur often and linger long.

Author Biography

Nnamdi Oguike is a Nigerian writer. He is a winner of the Miles Morland African Writing Scholarships 2019, selected as The Missing Slate’s Author of the Month for March 2016 and was a finalist in the 2018 Africa Book Club Short Story Competition. More of his writings have been published in The Dalhousie Review, African Writer and Brittle Paper. He lives in Plymouth, United Kingdom.
