The author:
Susanne Maria Emka was born in 1979 and used to work as an elementary school teacher before setting a new professional course. She studied journalism and now devotes herself to her two passions: writing and nature. With great commitment she inspires children as well as adults for the microcosm of natural gardens and the wonder of creation.

The illustrator:
The Ukrainian artist Maria Mykytiuk was born in 1982. As the daughter of two biologists she spent her childhood surrounded by nature and animals. At preschool age she already painted, played music, and danced. After studying social sciences and working for ten years for national health and environmental programs, she devoted herself entirely to painting. The war in the Ukraine forced the artist to leave her homeland and she now lives in the UK. She hopes for peace for her country and a reunion with family and friends.
