Author Biography

Volodymyr Vakulenko (1 July 1972 – March/May 2022) was a Ukrainian poet, children's writer, and Wikipedian, who was also involved in volunteer work and activism. He was killed during the Russian occupation of the Kharkiv area in Ukraine in 2022. Before being abducted by the Russian forces, he managed to hide his journal documenting the Russian occupation by burying it in his backyard. The diary was retrieved by fellow writer Victoria Amelina and subsequently published. Victoria Amelina died on July 2023 due to her injuries after the Russian attack on Kramatorsk in June 2023


 


Natalie Gaida is a Ukrainian Illustrator, character designer, and storyboarder. She is currently working her Animation MFA as Fulbright student in Savannah College of Art and Design, USA.
