Author Biography

Jacques Jabié (pseudonym of Zhovtanetskiy Oleg) is the author of several books and well-known public figure in Ukraine. He is an associate professor at the Ukrainian Catholic University  and together with his wife he has three children.

His first collection of children's poems, Barantseva dreams of a bow, with illustrations by Lviv artist Oli Kvashi, was published in 2015 and won 2nd place among the best Ukrainian-language publications from Lviv publishing houses in the "Children's Literature" category at the Lviv City Council Award. In 2017, together with Lviv artist Taras Keb, he published the art book What's in Dad's Beard?
In 2019 he published with Mamino publishing house the book of poetry Octopus Man with illustrations by Lviv artist Natalie Kudlyak (Kashchak). Jacques Jabié is known for his unique way of presenting his books. In these interactive events the writer involves young readers and their parents in the communication process, as well as famous artists, actors and musicians such as the musician Vadym Voytovych, the theatre and film actors Oleg Oneschak and Denis Sokolov, and the composer Yevhen Petrov  - and his own family members.

Marysya Rudska illustrated books for adult readers, a website, as well as various magazines for children. She had more than one personal exhibition in different cities in Ukraine, and in 2012 her name was included in the catalog "222 best young book illustrators + 1 guest of honor from the countries of the former USSR".
