Description
Nineteen-year-old Jacek in 1983 became a student of the Maritime University in Gdynia. He spent the first semester on the Dar Młodzieży sailing ship, covering the Gdynia-Osaka-Gdynia route. The book is a diary written during this voyage: together with the author, we look into the cubicle and mess hall, keep watch with him and visit port cities. Thanks to the combination of his youthful energy with the skill of mature, insightful observation, a book was created that is not only a collection of memories, but also a record of a bygone era and the confrontation of Polish experiences with the then unreal world of Western Europe and the Far East.

Author Biography
A graduate of the Gdynia Maritime University (1988). He has gone through all levels of an officer career, mainly in the British Petroleum and Chevron Oil companies. He obtained his master's diploma in 1999. He lived and worked in Singapore for a year. His life passion is traveling around the world, he loves good literature and theater, and is passionate about kitesurfing.
