Author Biography

Dr. Rakesh Kumar Mandal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Application at the University of North Bengal. He completed B.Sc. (Non-Medical), DCCTM, MCA and PhD from reputed state Universities of India. He has specialization in Computer Networks, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Medical Image Processing and Cloud Computing. His Areas of Research Interest are Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Pattern Recognition. He has more than 20 Publications in different International Journals and more than 25 publications in International and National Conference Proceedings. He has received two International awards and one National award for his contribution in the field of Handwriting Recognition using ANN. He has 2 years of experience in IT administration as an EDP Officer, JMGS Scale-I, Oriental Bank of Commerce and 11 Years of teaching and research experience as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Application at the University of North Bengal. He completed one UGC major project on Brain Tumor Detection using ANN and completed one minor project on Lie Detection. He is already working on a minor project on Elephant Detection System using ANN. He attended many International and National Conferences, Seminars and Workshop and presented papers as participant as well as resource person. He chaired a session during State Science Congress. He also judged many IT events.
