Cómo cocinar un lobo
by Magalí Etchebarne
Description
Over a year, she goes from daughter to poet, and the verses become blows of memory of the last things but also the first. It’s about traversing “a rope over the precipice,” sniffing every corner like a hound, knowing that even then, scent trails run cold and that voices that remain only on a cassette may sound different from one’s own memory. It's to assemble a lexicon of gestures, moles, invented words, insignificant things, and bird food. This is how you cook a life, how you process legacies and silences: over a low fire, cooking the ghost wolf.

Reviews
Fabián Casas: “The wolf that Etchebarne wants to cook is the one that appears some nights and that is built out of our fears and anxieties. It has red eyes and speaks in the jargon from the border between sleep and wakefulness.”
Katya Adaui: “A moving, brief, winged diary of mourning. Magalí Etchebarne filters language to soar above her childhood home. Alongside a restraint that also screams, there’s discovery: a father inherits his animal kingdom and a mother who reverberates in silence.”
Hinde Pomeraniec: “A book that is also a hug.”
Javiera Pérez Salerno: “A precious, sorrowful, and universal piece about the death of both parents.”“Just when I thought family relations was a dated subject, this book comes to revive it.”
Agustina Larrea: “With the delicacy of someone simmering between pain and the echo of a powerful voice.”
Diego Trerotola: “I want to bury this book in the garden so that one day, it can be found like treasure.”
