Author Biography

Yuriy Nikitinskiy is a famous writer and journalist. He was born in Ashgabat, and has been living in Kyiv since 1984. He has written more than twenty children's books, is a laureate and prize-winner of numerous literary prizes and competitions. A famous author of witty lines, he is sure that a children's book without humor is a strange book indeed. And it seems that this poetic story about the ocean, full of "thrills" and "fun" is a wonderful confirmation of this idea.

Marichka Ruban is a talented artist and designer. She lives and works in Kharkiv. She is known to many in Ukraine as the author of drawings for the Kyiv Zoo and  the illustrator for McDonald's cups that many people used everyday. Her watercolors are light, cheerful and bright, and  encourage everyone to dream, draw and... let loose a little bit, at least from time to time!
