Author Biography
Larissa Mies Bombardi is a professor in the Department of Geography at the University of São Paulo (USP). She currently lives in Europe and does research at the Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD) in Paris, France, under the Programme national d'accueil en urgence des scientifiques et des artistes en exil (Pause). She is a specialist on the subject of pesticide use, with dozens of lectures, articles and interviews published in Brazilian and international journals and media. She is the author of the atlases A Geography of Agrotoxins Use in Brazil and its Relations to the European Union (2019) and Geography of Asymmetry: The Vicious Cycle of Pesticides and Colonialism in the Commercial Relationship between Mercosur and the European Union (2021). She is a member of the National Forum to Combat the Impacts of Pesticides in Brazil, a member of the international organization Justice Pesticide and a guest researcher at the Helmholtz-Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, Germany.
