Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) aims to teach people to face emotional problems openly with mindfulness and compassion while pursuing what they truly care about in their lives. The book provides an introduction to the principles and methods of ACT and presents therapeutic strategies across disorders. ACT is not primarily about eliminating and controlling symptoms, but about developing greater psychological flexibility through learning mindful acceptance.
