History
Description
753, Rome crawled out of the egg – every child knows that much. But what did Rome and Carthage quarrel about, while they were fighting in three bloody Punic Wars? What did Caesar want when he crossed the Rubicon? Who were the soldier emperors? And why did the Roman reign in the west end on a September day in AD 476?
Michael Sommer’s »Brief Roman History« answers questions like that – compact, comprehensible and up to date with the latest research.
